For beginner and intermediate dancers and movers! Immerse yourself into the culture, process, and creativity that make up DIAVOLO! This five day workshop is built for dancers to expand their movement vocabulary and learn the foundational ELEMENTS of DIAVOLO. Much more than a dance workshop, DIAVOLO's Winter Intensive will challenge students to become a "complete performer". The week ends with a free public showcase of work in the DIAVOLO studio as well as a personal critique session by Jacques Heim and company dancers.

SCHEDULE December 16-December 20, 5pm-10pm
5:00-6:00 Company Class (alternating technique classes and strength/conditioning classes, taught by DIAVOLO Company Dancers)
6:00-6:30 Across the floor (DIAVOLO movement vocabulary including slides, rolls, jumps, lifts, partnering, plus FLYING & CATCHING)
6:30-7:00 Exercises (spatial awareness, trust, teamwork-preparing the dancer for the work)
7:00-8:00 Set piece work (safety, skills, creation)
8:30-10:00 Continue Creation

EARLY ENROLLMENT DISCOUNT
Dancers who apply and are selected to participate in the entire program will receive a 20% discount if tuition is paid in full on or before November 15th, 2019.
Full-tuition and partial-tuition scholarships are available for dancers who demonstrate exceptional potential and an eagerness towards the work of DIAVOLO. Dancers must be between the ages of 18 and 24. Only dancers who are enrolling in all 5 days are eligible. To be considered for a scholarship, send the following along with your application: video statement of financial need, proof of age, and 2 letters of recommendation. Scholarship applications are due on or before November 15th, 2019 to firstname.lastname@example.org. Scholarship applicants will be notified of financial aid status on or before November 30th, 2019.
A Welcome Packet will be emailed to all registered participants at the beginning of December.
Participants are responsible for their own accommodations during the Winter Workshop. A comprehensive list of housing resources is included in the Welcome Packet and available upon request.
