Applicants must be currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year undergraduate program. These internships are only available for current Los Angeles County residents OR students currently enrolled in a college or university within Los Angeles County.

The Development and Finance Intern will learn the fundamentals of fundraising, finance and operations in a mid-sized world-renowned movement dance company. The Intern will have the opportunity to interact with DIAVOLO’s professional staff, thereby gaining exposure to their diverse responsibilities and learning about the multitude of career options available in the performing arts.
 
Duties will include: (1) coordinating individual giving initiatives (direct mail, online, events), (2) supporting finance-related activities (payroll, budgets, cash flow), and (3) draft grant applications and reports. 
 
This is a paid position, working 40 hours a week for 10 consecutive weeks between the months of August and October 2022 OR a total of 400 hours to be completed before March 2023 (e.g. 25 hours/week for 16 weeks). Pay for all LA County Arts Interns is $16.04/hour.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled undergraduate (4 year or community college). Those graduating by December 31, 2022 are still eligible

  • Reside and/or attend school in LA County

  • Possess right-to-work documents

 
Applicants may not:

  • Have a prior BA, BS or higher degree

  • Have previously participated in the LA County Arts & Culture Internship program

 
She/he/they should be a “self-starter” who is motivated, conscientious, dependable, and an adaptable team player with a genuine interest in the arts. Passion for dance is a plus. Excellent writing, editing and design skills are highly desirable.
 
Candidates should desire a position during normal business hours, usually 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional schedule adjustment for attendance at company events on evenings and weekends (digital or in-person), that will afford them access and exposure to all areas of arts administration. Please note: This is primarily an in-person position and we require that applicants be able to work at our studio in Lincoln Heights.
 
SKILLS

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Photoshop

  • Proficiency with social media (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)

  • Strong organization and communication

  • Copywriting, editing, and design
