Anna-Marie Knutson, born and raised in Winter Haven, FL, found her love for moving at a very young age through dance and competitive gymnastics. Attending performing arts schools while also training as a competitive gymnast provided Anna with a strong, well-rounded foundation in movement. She continued her development as a dance artist at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL, graduating with a BFA in Dance Performance and a minor in Nutrition. While at USF, Anna performed in the works of guest artists and faculty, including Charles O. Anderson, Bliss Kohlmyer and Micheal Foley. Her choreography was selected to represent the department at the Mid-Atlantic South regional ACDA in 2019. During a semester abroad in Paris, France, Anna had the opportunity to take workshops with multiple international dance artists in Germany, France and the Netherlands, among others. Most recently, Anna has worked with Diavolo on The Veterans Project in Tampa, FL. This is her first season with Diavolo, and she is humbled and excited by the opportunity to work alongside such an incredible group of artists.
