Complete the DIAVOLO Institute’s Vision and Goals

In the Studio

The DIAVOLO Institute offers a range of professional
and pre-professional training programs for
working and aspiring performers of all ages.

Transform the participants through this immersive training experience into a DIAVOLO Company Member for the week. Facing mental and physical challenges, participants are treated with the same expectations as professional artists in creation, and we get right to work on a custom-choreographed piece on one of DIAVOLO’s acclaimed sets.

Current Programs:

Diavolo Intensive 6/19-6/23

An action-filled youth performance company and day camp program for children ages 8 and up. Performance Company rehearses twice weekly after school, and the Adventure Camp is now open to the whole family during winter, spring, and summer breaks at our studios in downtown Los Angeles. Participants learn to dance, fly, and catch in DIAVOLO’s own creation studio on the company’s unique sets and structures.

SUMMER 2017 FOX FLYERS

JUNE 12-16, 2017

An Institute Program that teaches the unique elements of DIAVOLO Technique, which include ballet and modern dance, gymnastics, martial arts, flying, catching, dynamic partnering, Architecture in Motion, improvisation, and composition. Participants are presented with opportunities to work in DIAVOLO’s own creation studio on the company’s unique sets and structures.

In the Community

The DIAVOLO Institute aims to make creative movement and the arts
an everyday activity in the lives of children and adults alike.

Most community programs are offered free, no previous
exposure to dance is required. Programs include:

THE VETERANS PROJECT is a new initiative funded by The James Irvine Foundation, focusing on the Veterans Community in Los Angeles. DIAVOLO will be holding free movement workshops around the Los Angeles area for veterans during the Summer of 2016. Participants from these workshops will be in consideration to become a part of a fully produced DIAVOLO community performance.

For information on our next workshop and to see pictures and videos of previous workshops, check out our sister site, The Veterans Project.

LA Familia, a customized family dance night for all ages and ability levels. The 2-3 hour event brings everyone together in movement and includes dinner afterwards. See our calendar for current offerings and contact us to setup your own event.  LA Unity is a customizable series of dance workshops for  non-dancer youth and adults that uses movement as a universal language. Each workshop is offered free to the community and culminates in a celebration event.  The DIAVOLO Institute aims to engage our hometown in the arts, fitness,  and interactive and collaborative performance.

DIAVOLO regularly conducts free dance workshops and performances in the community at cultural centers, hospitals, and juvenile detention centers.
